About Me
Mindfulness to Mental Health
My name is Cara. I am a mum to two live-in Zen masters and a Zen-master dog. I have worked in mental health for the past 15 years, working primarily with adult and older teenagers. Over time I increasingly feel that a more holistic approach to mental health is required. I came across meditation and mindfulness when I was looking for a way to support my own family and trained as a Connected Kids tutor. This heart-centred child-centred approach to working with children and teens really appealed to me. Since then, my interest in supporting families, parents and anyone who has a role educating children, led me to train in teaching adults to work with children using mindfulness and meditation.
Over time I have stepped back from community mental health to focus on a more holistic approach to mental health. I meditate daily and spend time in nature, replenishing my-self in a way that connects with the wonderful planet we live on.
I offer individual and group work, face to face (Dublin and Cork) when permitted by the restriction levels, and online when face to face is not feasible or if preferred for any reason.
